Dianbaar (pronounced 'john-bar') sells unique, handcrafted fair trade and recycled gifts from  Africa. We also sell African art and promote African culture through community events. We are a socially and environmentally responsible business and are proud members of Green America and are listed in the National Green Pages Directory.

We respect the people and cultural traditions of Africa and the rest of the developing world. Our merchandise represents the best in craftsmanship from the continent's many ethnic groups and skilled artisans. Our commitment to fair trade is about respect, respect for people and respect for the environment.

Fair trade is an alternative economic system that pays artisans a living wage  and in the case of farmers, a fair price for their crops. Fair trade can transform the lives of African artisans and farmers by allowing them to become self-sufficient., support their families and improve their communities.

We support the work of African artists and artisans by promoting African arts, crafts and culture in Indianapolis. We teach classes, workshops and seminars on various African crafts and fair trade.
