About Us
We sell unique, handcrafted fair trade and recycled gifts made in  Africa. Our merchandise represents the best in craftsmanship from the continent's many ethnic groups and skilled artisans.

We respect the people and cultural traditions of Africa and the rest of the developing world so our commitment to fair trade is about respect, respect for people and respect for the environment.

We support fair trade because it pays artisans a living wage  and in the case of farmers, a fair price for their crops. Fair trade has the ability to transform the lives of artisans and farmers by allowing them to become self-sufficient, support their families and improve their communities.

We are a socially and environmentally responsible and are proud members of Green America and are listed in the National Green Pages Directory.

Our name is pronounced "john-bar" which is a Wolof word that means 'hero'. Wolof is one of the main languages of Senegal, West Africa.

We are based in Indianapolis, Indiana. As a business in transition, we primarily do farmers markets, festivals and special events throughout the year. You can reach us by email by selecting the button below.
